Anyone know if there is a way to fix a guitar hero 2 controller that doesn’t activate star power normally?

I have had it since guitar hero 2 came out, and now when i try to activate star power, it takes a while of holding the guitar up for it to kick in. This is giving me trouble, as I am trying to beat the last two songs on hard, and if i am about to fail it kills me when it doesn’t kick in. I am wondering if there is some way to open up the guitar and fix it.

I would only suggest you learn to use the select button instead. It takes a bit to get used to, but my god is it easier than tilting.
